The Konrad did some log duties today.  Handled all the new laid track well.  


 



John had asked about my track laying.  This is a close up of the track.  Used 4 spikes per tie and then every 5th ties I also added a num 0 screw to hold the gauge.  Over time the spikes tend to loosen and have to be pushed back in.   Time will tell.  Worst case I can just use the screws to replace the spikes.  I like using cedar because the spikes can be pushed in using needle nosed pliers with a t notched grind ed into the inside points of the pliers.  A harder wood would require predrilling but that might be too much work.  I did not use a jig just a piece of wood in between the ties to get my spacing.
